Refund Policy

Version: 1.0 · Effective: 2026-07-26

The short version

14 days, no interrogation. If ChronoSophia is not what you wanted, say so within 14 days of purchase and you get your money back.

And separately: if it does not run on a machine that meets the published requirements, you get a refund regardless of how long that took to establish. Diagnosing an install problem should not eat your refund window.

Why the policy is written this way

Software like this cannot be "returned" — once you have the installer, you have it. Some sellers use that as an excuse to sell all digital goods final. We do not, for two reasons: it is the wrong way to treat someone who paid, and this product has real hardware requirements that can only be truly tested by trying.

We would rather refund you than have your money and your resentment.

1. The 14-day window

Within 14 days of purchase, request a refund for any reason and it will be processed. You do not have to justify it, and you will not be talked out of it or routed through a retention script.

If you bought through a platform acting as merchant of record (Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, or similar), the refund is processed through that platform and lands back on your original payment method on their timetable — typically 5–10 business days.

2. Consumer withdrawal rights (UK/EU and similar)

If you are a consumer in the UK, EU, or another jurisdiction with statutory withdrawal rights, you have a legal right to cancel a digital purchase within 14 days.

Where a checkout asks you to waive that right in exchange for immediate download, that waiver does not affect this policy — our 14-day refund stands on its own regardless of what you clicked. You do not lose your refund by downloading the software immediately.

Where your statutory rights give you more than this policy does, your statutory rights apply.

3. "It will not run on my machine"

This is refundable at any time, not just within 14 days, provided your machine meets the requirements published in SYSTEM_REQUIREMENTS.md and WHAT_YOU_GET.md.

Working out why a local AI toolchain will not start can take longer than 14 days, especially across the dependency install. It would be dishonest to sell you software with a 30 GB dependency footprint and then hide behind a clock while you debug it.

Before refunding under this clause, we will genuinely try to fix it with you — most failures are environment issues with known causes. But the choice to stop trying and take the refund is yours, not ours.

4. What is not refundable

Note what is absent from that list: "you already used it", "you downloaded it", and "you changed your mind" are all refundable.

5. Services engagements

Paid audit and pilot engagements are not covered by this policy — they are delivered work, governed by their own agreement, with milestones and acceptance terms set out before the engagement starts. Ask before booking one.

6. How to request a refund

Contact us via SUPPORT.md with your order reference or the email address you used at checkout. That is the whole process. You do not need to fill in a form, provide a reason, or return anything.

We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days. This is a one-person company, so if you catch us mid-flight it may take a little longer — but the refund is not contingent on how fast we answer.

7. After a refund

Your licence ends and you should remove the software. Anything you already created with it remains yours — we do not claw back your work, and the sealed provenance records on your machine are yours to keep or delete.

We would rather you leave with your work and your money than feel trapped.
