Mirrorborn Terms

Status: not yet open. Mirrorborn is in development and accounts are not available. These terms are published in advance so they can be read before anyone hands over anything, rather than presented at the moment of signup.

1. The most important thing on this page

Mirrorborn is not a clinical, diagnostic, medical or psychological assessment tool.

It does not diagnose, treat, prevent or assess any medical or psychological condition. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional, and nothing it produces is medical advice, psychological advice, or a professional opinion.

It is a structured mirror: you write about yourself, and deterministic code organises those answers into an explainable profile with the evidence attached.

If you are in distress or crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service. This tool is not for that and will not help.

2. Do not use it for consequential decisions about people

Specifically, you may not use Mirrorborn or its output for:

• Employment decisions — hiring, firing, promotion or assignment
• Educational or academic placement
• Insurance, credit, or eligibility determinations of any kind
• Legal proceedings, including custody or fitness assessments
• Assessing another person without their knowledge and consent

It is not validated for any of these, and using it that way would be both unreliable and unfair to the person on the receiving end.

3. What it actually does, so you can judge it

• You answer thirty open questions in writing.
• A language model reads those answers and tags them against a fixed fifty-node taxonomy. It is a constrained reader, deliberately not the authority on who you are.
• Deterministic code validates every tag against the canonical taxonomy and assigns the five stations by rules — not by a model's impression of you.
• The result shows its evidence and a completeness figure.

Partial results are shown as partial. If the evidence does not support a station, it is left empty and labelled insufficient rather than filled with a confident guess. In current testing the Shadow station frequently comes back empty because the model under-returns those tags; that is a known limitation, not a finding about you.

The output is an interpretation of what you wrote on one occasion. It is not a fact about you, and it is not stable — which is precisely why the history matters more than any single result.

4. Your data

Covered in full in Part C of the Privacy Statement. In short:

• We store your answers, your resulting profiles, and your history.
• Your answers are processed by a third-party AI model provider for tagging. Unlike ChronoSophia, this processing happens off your machine.
• The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it, and withdrawal means deletion.
• You can export everything, delete a single assessment, or delete your account and all its data.
• For support, the operator can view your account including assessment status, which means a human can in principle read what you wrote. Every administrative action is written to an append-only audit log.

Write accordingly. It is a reflection tool, not a sealed diary, and we would rather you knew that before you started typing.

5. Your account

• One account per person; do not share credentials.
• Sign-in is through Google. We never receive your Google password.
• Do not submit another person's information, or answers on someone else's behalf.
• We may suspend an account for abuse, attempts to disrupt the service, or use prohibited by section 2.

6. Availability and cost

Mirrorborn is provided as is, with no uptime guarantee. It is developed by one person. Features may change, and the instrument itself may be revised — in which case your past results record which version produced them.

If pricing is ever introduced, existing stored data remains exportable and deletable regardless of whether you pay.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NeuroCognica is not liable for any decision you make on the basis of Mirrorborn output, or for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

8. Changes

Material changes are published with a new version and effective date. A change that starts new collection requires fresh consent; it does not take effect by publication alone.
